QUESTIONS ABOUT THE WORKOUT
WHAT IS BT FITNESS? IS IT A GYM?
BT Fitness is not a gym, rather it is a fitness studio that offers small group classes and private training. We use specifically selected equipment that is generally not found in traditional gyms. Our concept is to merge techniques from various fitness disciplines that are often kept separate from one another to produce optimal results. Unlike a gym, we do not require any contracts, long-term commitments or membership dues. Another difference is that our group classes are in a much more intimate setting allowing you to receive individualized attention similar to private training.
WHAT IS THE SPX PROFORMER CLASS? IS IT PILATES?
Our SPX Proformer class uses concepts found in traditional pilates, but it is NOT Pilates. The biggest difference is that it utilizes the patented Proformer instead of a traditional reformer or mat class. This machine’s innovative design allows you not only to get a core strengthening and flexibility based workout, but also gives you the strengthening and toning benefits of weight training in a high intensity, continuous format similar to circuit training. You do not need any prior pilates or weight training experience to take these classes.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM TRX & KETTLEBELL CLASSES?
The TRX and Kettlebell are two of the most highly recognized and innovative fitness tools currently found in the realm of personal training. This equipment is used specifically for gaining strength, weight loss and improving athletic performance. The goal of these classes is for you to improve your body’s overall function. These exercises and equipment allow you to build better muscular balance and joint stability. No prior weight training experience is needed.
HOW DO CORE FUSION CLASSES WORK?
Our Core Fusion classes work by combining the SPX Proformer with the TRX Suspension trainer, Kettlebells, stability balls and resistance bands to offer a truly diversified and effective core training approach that challenges the body in various ways. This class is unique in that you will receive the core strengthening benefits as well as improved stability and balance.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT CLASS IS RIGHT FOR ME?
We are always here to go over the different classes with you and help you come up with the best fit for you. If you are taking your first class with us, we recommend the Core Fusion class so that you can get a feel for a little bit of everything.
HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK SHOULD I TAKE CLASSES?
Scientific research indicates the “training response” is best achieved by working out a minimum of 3x per week. However, depending on your fitness level and the intensity of the workout, you may need more or less time to recover. Some people come 2-3 times a week and some come 5 or 6 times a week. Listen to your body.
I HAVE NEVER DONE PILATES OR USED ANY OF THIS EQUIPMENT, DO I NEED TO DO PRIVATE TRAINING FIRST?
You do not NEED to do private training since the routine is kept simple to make sure everyone is using good form and the class size is kept small so that you get focused attention during your workout. Some people like private training first so that they can get familiar with the equipment while others jump right into classes. Use your judgment and trust your instincts – but feel free to contact us at info@bt-fit.com to discuss your concerns. However, if you have had a prior injury or if you are concerned about aggravating a current condition, it is recommended to take a private training session first.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE STUDIO
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR CLASSES?
We use an easy to use and completely secure online appointment system, which will enable you to have full control of your account. We recommend you reserve your class online to guarantee that you have a space in class. We will have our schedule available one month in advance to allow you to plan around your schedule.
Click on Sign Up Today to create an account where you will choose a user name and password and be asked for a credit card to be kept on file. Once your account is created, you can purchase classes/monthly passes and schedule all your classes. When you return to our website, just click on “Members Sign In” to go straight to the online appointment system. If you forgot your password or need additional information, send us an email at info@bt-fit.com.
I’M CURRENTLY IN A CONTRACT, HOW COME I CANNOT SIGN UP FOR CLASSES?
If you are on a contract and are trying to book classes, please note that the online appointment system will only allow you to make reservations for your current month (To view when your current month expires click on “MY INFO” and then “Account”). Once your next auto-payment runs, you will be able to make reservations for your next month. If you would like to book classes before your next auto-payment runs, let us know and we can reserve your spot in that class or we can run your auto-payment early to enable you to reserve your classes.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TYPE OF PRICING PACKAGE IS RIGHT FOR ME?
We have tried to come up with a variety of pricing options to suit everyone’s needs. Feel free to email us about your concerns and we will do everything we can to help you find the right option for you. In addition, if you do not see a pricing package that meets your needs, contact us to discuss.
DO YOU ALLOW WALK-INS?
Yes, walk-ins are welcomed; however, you will need to have already created an account and paid for the class. We strongly recommend you sign up for classes online to guarantee your spot in class. Walk-ins will only be given a spot if there is room in the class since reserved spots get first priority.
DO YOU CANCEL CLASS IF THERE IS ONLY ONE OR TWO PEOPLE IN CLASS?
We will NEVER cancel a class just because there are only a few people in class – we have no minimum number of people required for class. However, if there is no one signed up for a class at least 3 hours before a schedule class, we reserve the right to cancel the class. This is why we strongly recommend you signing up for class in advance. In addition, if a class has “4 OR MORE” after it, then 4 or more people must be signed up for the class at least 12 hours in advance in order for the class to remain on the schedule.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO CLASS?
1. The main thing you need to bring to class is good energy and positive attitude.
2. Wear clothing designed for athletic activity that allows your body to move easily.
3. Although we offer a complimentary bottle of water in each class, some people like to bring their own water.
4. If you are taking a SPX Proformer class, you can take the class barefoot or you can wear socks with treads – it is up to you. If you are taking a TRX & Kettlebell or Fusion class, you will need to bring proper athletic footwear (i.e. sneakers).
5. Jewelry should be taken off before class to ensure that you do not damage or lose it. If you wear jewelry during class, you are doing so at your own risk.
6. Cell phones should be turned off so you do not disrupt the class. Please do not use your cell phone while in the studio out of respect of others.
7. Avoid wearing strong perfumes or colognes, as some people are allergic.
WHAT IF I CAN’T COME TO CLASS I HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED FOR? WILL I BE CHARGED?
Since we only have a limited number of spaces available in each class, we have a 12-hour cancellation policy that applies, even if it’s your first class. If you do not show up for class, without cancelling online or contacting us, you will be charged a $20 No Show Fee. If you cancel less than 12 hours in advance, you will be charged a $10 Late Cancel Fee. If you cancel less than 3 hours in advance of your schedule class, it will be considered a No Show and you will be charged $20. If it’s your first class and you do not show up, you will lose your free class.
IF I AM LATE TO CLASS, WILL I LOSE MY SPOT?
Yes. It is very important to arrive on time as a respect to the studio and other clients. Many times, clients will drop in to see if someone doesn’t show allowing them a space in the class. If you do not arrive within 10 minutes after class begins, you will lose your spot in that class – regardless if someone is on the waiting list or not – and it will be treated as a NO SHOW for class.
CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN TO THE STUDIO?
As much as we would love to meet your children, due to safety and insurance concerns we cannot allow children to stay in the studio while class is in session. The same rule applies to pets as well.
ARE MY PURCHASES REFUNDABLE OR TRANSFERABLE?
Sorry, but all purchases are final, and are not transferable. Some of our passes require signing a contract for auto-payments. Please make sure that you look these over carefully and fully understand the rules before signing them.
CAN I CANCEL MY CONTRACT? DO THE MONTHS HAVE TO BE CONSECUTIVE?
If you need to cancel your contracts, you will be charged a $200 cancellation fee. Although the months in your contract must be used consecutively, you can put a hold on your contract for no charge once per calendar year for up to 90 days. For any additional holds there is a $50 suspension fee for doing so.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to email us at info@bt-fit.com.
